It's not easy being green, but here at Piccolo Mondo we have always been trying to do our bit to help the environment.  Many years ago, we were one of the first businesses in Wimborne to have a recycling bin!  We are very proud to be working alongside Wimborne War on Waste as one of their 'Plastic Free Champions'.  This means we endeavour to reduce and remove as much single use plastic as possible from the business.  We have replaced our plastic straws with paper ones, all our takeaway packaging is compostable or recyclable.

Because we make everything on our main menu ourselves (and almost everything else!) it reduces the waste we produce - even our mayonnaise and dressings are made right here in Wimborne!  When it comes to coffee, our coffee grounds go along with our other food waste to become compost or fuel - if anybody reading would like fresh coffee grounds for their own compost, just ask!  We also have our mug basket scheme - come and choose a 'proper' mug from our basket for your takeaway coffee, you can either keep the mug or bring it back when you are next passing!

We use local suppliers wherever possible, including local trout from Bell's Famous Fisheries and the fabulous people at Fluffetts for our eggs.  Even our Italian imports come from a great local company based just outside of Wimborne.

If you are hosting a party with us, we have a variety of coloured paper pom-poms as an alternative to balloons and bunting should you wish to use it. We welcome any suggestions or comments so please get in touch!
